The Zero Waste Scotland carbon metric report tracks the lifecycle impact of stuff thrown away by Scottish homes.

It found that textiles accounted for only 4% of what was discarded in 2021 in terms of weight, but accounted for 32% of the carbon emissions generated by household waste.

The Environment Agency said the Scot "We need to rethink our consumption of goods."
